2020 festive season gorilla permit discounts: As the world celebrates this festive season, the price of Uganda gorilla, chimpanzee permits, and other park entrance fees have been cut by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, the discounted rates are effective starting from 1st December 2020 to 30th June 2021.
Uganda government is giving out all those offers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic which has affected Uganda tourism industry, hoping this 2020 festive season gorilla permit discounts will lead to an increase in numbers of tourist going for the famous mountain gorilla trekking in both Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

The current discounted Uganda trekking permit cost $400 per person for non-resident foreign, this was reduced from $700
For the foreign residents, Uganda gorilla permit has been discounted from $600 to $300 per person
For the East African citizens, the Uganda gorilla permit has been reduced from 250,000 Uganda shillings to 150,000 Uganda shillings.
Festive season chimpanzee trekking discounted fees breakdown
For the Ugandan and others East African Community resident chimpanzee trekking permits has been reduced from 150,000 Uganda to 100,000 Uganda shillings which is just about $28 per person
For the Foreign Resident chimpanzee trekking permits has been reduced from $150 to $100 per person
For the Foreign Non-Resident, chimpanzee trekking permits has been reduced from $200 to $150 per person.
Discounted park entrance fees during festive season
There is a new 50% discount on all Uganda Savannah national park entrance fees, the parks include Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park Rwenzori Mountains National Park, Semuliki National Park, Lake Mburo National Park, and all Uganda Wildlife Reserves including Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve, Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve, Katonga Wildlife Reserve, and others.
