The new prices will be effective starting from 1st July 2020 up to July 2022 when the prices are reviewed again, with these new filming rates Uganda Wildlife will charge 10% for monitoring and to cater for monitoring during the filming activities and some damages that may happen when filming, there is another 40% for activity fee as filming.
Uganda is well known as the primate capital in Africa and in the whole world which makes Uganda the best destination for filming gorillas, chimpanzees, and primates like golden monkeys among others. There are standard prices/fees that are part of 2020 to 2022 New filming permit prices in Uganda national parks which will be effective 1st July 2020 mountain gorilla filming permit fee was at $4000 filming in Bwindi Impenetrable forest and chimpanzee filming permit was $1050 in Kibale forest.
With these new filming prices in Uganda for 2020/2022, anyone interested in mountain gorilla filming in Bwindi impenetrable forest and Mgahinga gorilla National Park, take note that starting from 1st July 2020 each film crew member must pay 40% of the price of a gorilla permit each day and on the top of gorilla permit price? This means that each film crew member will have to pay $700 for the normal gorilla trekking permit and after top up $280 which is 40% of $700 (gorilla trek permit). This is now clear that if you have many crew members it means paying more for filming gorillas in either Bwindi forest or Mgahinga. Please take NOTE that the above gorilla filming prices are for one with the normal gorilla permit so anyone who prefers to spend more time filming mountain gorillas in Uganda will have to pay more, for example, you can go for 4 hours of gorilla habituation experience which cost $1500 and top 40% with this it gives more time to spend with Ugandan gorillas.
