If you want to track gorilla on a budget tour you will have to book your gorilla tracking permit far in advance to make sure that you get the permit on the date and day of your choice, 80% percent of gorilla permits in Uganda are sold between a year or six months in advance, after booking your gorilla permit in advance it gives you a chance to look for the accommodation which fits within your budget because you cannot determine where to stay if have not yet booked fully your tracking permit. One can easily access Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park of Uganda and Virunga National Park of DR-Congo through Rwanda; fly to Kanobe International Airport of Rwanda in Kigali the capital city of Rwanda is the best way to access gorillas in Uganda or in Congo because it is only 3 hours drive from Kigali to Bwindi Forest while if fly to Entebbe Airport in Uganda it will take you about 7 to 8 hours drive to get to Bwindi Forest, so currently we have been advising our clients to fly to Kigali Rwanda and cross the border into Uganda using the East African Tourist Visa which allows you single entry to both countries, by flying to Rwanda it helps to save on 7 hours drive from Entebbe Airport to Bwindi Forest. For Congo the only way to access gorillas in Virunga National Park you have to fly to Kigali Rwanda or Goma Airport but it has few international flights so it is always better to fly to Rwanda and drive for about 3 hours to cross the border to Goma Town.
