There are only 885 mountain gorillas found in the jungles of Uganda, Rwanda, and DR-Congo, more than half the living in Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable forest national park with 16 habituated gorilla groups/families and more families are being habituated, that’s why you can also take part in gorilla habituation experience which is only be done in Uganda’ Bwindi forest-Rushaga sector in the southern part of Bwindi, also currently Rushaga sector has the highest habituated gorillas in Uganda totaling to 7 gorilla families open for tourism, every day 8 visitor/tourist treks per gorilla group, this means that Rushaga sector alone has 56 gorilla permits available daily.

Gorilla habituation experience is a whole day activity to spend with gorillas here visitors take a part in the gorilla training process and taming them and also studding their behaviors while gorilla trekking you are only allowed to spend one hour with mountain gorillas which have been habituated already
