The full-day Kibale National Park Chimpanzee Habituation Experience gives visitors a chance to work with a chimp community that is undergoing habituation. If you arrive early you will get a chance to witness the chimpanzees waking up from their overnight nests between 6:00 – 6:30 am before they go about their daily business, mating feeding, looking for food, breastfeeding, playing, resting, patrolling, and cheekily jumping from tree to tree until about 7:00 pm when they return to build new nests for the night.
In addition to tracking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park, visitors are able to see chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The chances of seeing the chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge are much less than in Kibale National Park.
