About Mgahinga gorilla national park
Mgahinga national park is part of the Virunga mountain range which is shared between three Countries Uganda, Rwanda, and DR-Congo. On the Uganda side, it’s called Mgahinga gorilla national park, on the Rwanda side it’s called Volcanoes national park, and on the DR-Congo side it’s Virunga national park, Virunga mountain range is another popular gorilla trekking destination next to Bwindi forest. Trekking gorillas in Mgahinga is easier than in Bwindi but Mgahinga has fewer gorilla permits available because it has only one gorilla family Nyakagezi and the other two gorilla families which constantly keeps crossing the border from Rwanda to Uganda side.
