The new price rates for gorilla tracking permits have been increased by 50% by Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the permit price now goes from $750 to $1,500 in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park for all visitors effective immediately starting from this May 2017.
The new prices will not affect tourists who already booked their tracking permits before the announcement of increasing the gorilla tracking Permits, Previously gorilla tracking permits cost $750 per person for non-nationals, $375 for foreign residents, and Rwf 30,000 for Rwandan nationals.
In addition to hiking gorilla tracking permits in Rwanda, Rwanda Development Board said that tourists who will visit other national parks of Rwanda like Nyungwe National Park and Akagera National Park before going for gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park for a minimum of at least three days and above will get a discount of 30% on their tracking permits.
