Golden monkey habituation activity currently it’s only found in Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, so for those who would wish to participate in golden monkey habituation experience, with habituation you are allowed to spend a full day with golden monkey, this activity of habituation is lead by a team of researchers, ranger/guide and trackers, habituation process takes about 3 years for the golden monkeys to get used to human presence. When going for golden monkey trekking you are only allowed to spending one hour with them while golden monkeys habituation experience you spend a whole day with them
Prices for Golden Monkey Habituation and Trekking for both Uganda and Rwanda?
Uganda’s golden monkey habituation permit price is at $100 per person while golden monkey trekking costs $50 per person both activities are done in Mghinga National Park.
Rwanda golden monkey trekking permit cost $100 per person in Volcanoes National Park, no habituation process in Rwanda.
Currently, we don’t recommend golden monkey trekking in Congo, but we do recommend mount Nyiragongo active volcano hiking and gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park.
