2023-24 Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife safaris in Uganda from Tanzania

Gorilla trekking in Uganda is a highlight of every East Africa tour, gorilla trekking is done in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park while Serengeti National Park is famous for a big five-game drive and Wildebeest migration which is the top safari highlights for the traveller visiting Uganda and Tanzania for both gorilla trek and big five adventure in East Africa

Combining Uganda gorilla trekking tours with Tanzania wildlife safaris to see the big Five in Africa combined with Uganda primates trekking. Primate safaris in Uganda are designed for a comprehensive gorilla trekking tour and Serengeti big five safaris.

In Uganda gorilla trekking is done in two parks, Bwindi impenetrable forest national park and Mugahinga gorilla national park, both parks are located in southwestern Uganda and Mugahinga is a part of the greater Virunga massif. Our Uganda gorilla trekking and Tanzania wildlife safari range from 3 days to the big five in Serengeti and gorilla safari.

When planning a gorilla trek in Uganda from Tanzania for 2023-24, you are required to be fairly fit so that you are able to hike through the humid, muddy conditions of Bwindi’s Impenetrable Forest, also you must be in good health conditions because Mountain gorillas are susceptible to human illnesses and remember gorillas don’t have our immunities like one of the humans which means illnesses like the common cold can be deadly to a whole gorilla family.

On our 2023-24 combination of Uganda and Tanzania, our safaris are designed in the way that gorilla trekking comes last which means these safaris start in Tanzania and end in Uganda with gorilla trek, after enjoying wildebeest migration and Serengeti big five wildlife game viewing of Tanzania Side then we can transfer you to Uganda by road or fly to Entebbe airport in Uganda.

Mountain gorilla trekking in Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable forest national park and the annual Serengeti Wildebeest Migration in Tanzania’s Serengeti national park is the most spectacular African safari adventure. Also, some of our previous clients referred to this Uganda and Tanzania safari as the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ as great Wildebeest Migration in Serengeti moves in the big number of approximately 1.5 million wildebeest throughout the Serengeti ecosystems looking for green pastures and water.

The best time for the great Wildebeest Migration in Serengeti for 2023-24

December Serengeti Migration

December is one of the good times to see the wildebeest migration in Tanzania, this is the time they start moving into the Ndutu area of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area which has good short grass plains and gives the big of herds wildebeest and the best conditions to raise their young ones. When it comes to February it is calving time and about 8,500 wildebeest are born daily for about 3 to 4 weeks, we recommend to our clients visiting during February to be around Ndutu lake.

April and May Wildebeest Migration in Serengeti

In April herds of wildebeest migration starts migrating up to the North with a split occurring when some wildebeest head directly up across the plains of the central Serengeti, In May adult wildebeest will come into season simultaneously and this is because they want to give birth in a mass calving around February, this gives their newborn babes safety. Calves and their mothers will all stay together so that they don’t get separated. In mid-May, the herds will have usually reached where there are short-grass plains of Serengeti as they head to Seronera Valley in Tanzania.

Serengeti Wildebeest Migration in June and July 2023-24

in June the track is in full swing as they head North to the Mara with the very first herds crossing the Mara River before arriving from the southern plains which makes it makes it a spectacular time to witness the Migration in June and July as you enjoy the famous river Mara crossings have always seen in the documentaries and films where you see crocodiles lie in the water and wait for the herds to cross.

Serengeti Wildebeest Migration in August, September, and October 2023-24

August, September, and October is the best time to enjoy game viewing because river Mara crossings are guaranteed daily. During this time there is no direction of movement as the herds are crossing back and forth over the river Mara because there have been enough rains so there are subsequent fresh grasses such as big herds, I can assure you when you finally get here you will note that it is not uncommon to see different herds crossing in all different directions daily

Serengeti Wildebeest Migration in November 2023-24

During November you will see the herds moving to the South again which means that towards the end of November, it will be a good time to be in the central Seronera valley area, In November, Masai Mara is lush and green again which offers good game drives in Africa.
