Day 1: Arrival for your 14 days at Classic Uganda Safari

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you are met by one of our representatives for your Uganda Safari.  You will be transferred to a hotel in Entebbe overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Ngamba Island

This Uganda  Safari starts with a visit to the Uganda Wildlife Education Center in Entebbe where you will meet for your morning boat transfer to Ngamba Island. The boat ride takes 90 minutes each way. Arrive at Ngamba Island in time for lunch. Dinner and overnight at the Ngamba Island Tented Camp.

Day 3: Full day on Ngamba Island

After breakfast, you will view chimps feeding on the visitors’ platform area. There is also an option for the Forest Walk which offers you an opportunity to join a group of infant chimpanzees on a one-hour walk through their forest habitat, A maximum of four visitors are allowed in the forest for each walk, always accompanied by trained staff for your safety and enjoyment.

You will be in the company of several chimpanzees ranging in age from 1 year to 8 years of age and you will have direct contact. There are very specific instructions regarding clothing, cameras, glasses, and behavior when signing up for this unique opportunity as these chimpanzees are used to human contact and they will play-bite, climb on you, grab your glasses, and pull your hair or even just walk along holding your hand. This requires specific vaccinations to be given before travel and the activity is at an additional cost. Dinner and overnight at Ngamba Island Tented Camp,

Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Travel back to Entebbe in the morning and depart for Murchison Falls Park taking a panoramic drive northwest through the famous Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town to Murchison Falls National Park. You will be staying in Budongo Forest tonight at Kaniyo Pabidi. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation of your choice depending on the budget.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking in Budongo Forest

In the morning, go track the chimpanzees and get to see the closest of our primates with whom we share 99% of our genetic make. After lunch, travel to the Paraa in the northern section of the park and visit the Top of the Falls. Dinner and overnight at accommodation in Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 6: Game drive and boat safari in Murchison Falls National Park

Wake up to an early morning game drive to start at 7.00 am. Return to the Lodge for a late breakfast at 11.00 am. After lunch, a launch cruise to the bottom of the falls; the hippos and crocodiles are amazing. Don’t miss the water birds going after the boat. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, travel to Fort Portal. This is a long drive, approximately 8 hours. You will carry a picnic lunch from your accommodation. Arrive late afternoon. Check into Lodge; dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest National Park

Early morning walk in Kibale Forest to track the habituated chimps which are the major attraction. These delightful apes are tremendously fun to watch as they squabble and play in trees and are more closely related to humans than any other living creature. Using the network of shady forest trails provides much delight to botanists and butterfly lovers, while birders are in for a treat with 335 species recorded. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park after a late breakfast. You will have a picnic lunch with you. After checking in and freshening up, go for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Full day in Queen Elizabeth National Park

This morning’s adventure also necessitates a very early breakfast. Drive to the top of the Kyambura Gorge, a deep natural ravine in the surrounding plains. Descend from the floor of the gorge to the riverine forest – very different from the savannah grasslands that surround it for chimp tracking. Drive back to the lodge for lunch, followed by the afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha

Leave for Bwindi Forest after breakfast, you will catch amazing views of the famous tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector of the park. Upon arrival in Bwindi, check into your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Impenetrable Park

Have an early breakfast, armed with your picnic lunch, and proceed to the park offices for a briefing and clearance. With guides and game rangers off, you go into the forest to track the ‘gentle giants, the mountain gorillas. Return to Haven Lodge for dinner and overnight,

Day 13: Transfer to Kampala

You will have a scenic drive back to Kampala overnight, you will enjoy the scenery of the rolling hills with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch before you proceed to Kampala.

Day 14: Departure

You will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport or Kigali Airport in Rwanda to check in on time for your departure flight.
