Detailed Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Uganda Mount Elgon Climbing Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Budadiri tourism center ready to hike up to Sasa camp 2900 meters

Your guide/driver will pick you up at 7:00 am and start your Uganda Mount Elgon Climbing Safari in the eastern part of Uganda, the drive is about 5 hours journey, you will drive past the Mabira Forest onward to Mbale town and after to Budadiri tourism center. This hike will start from the Sasa trail that starts from Budadiri where you will meet park ranger/guides, porters, cooks with food, camping gear, and all other arrangements you need to complete your Elgon hiking tour.

Sasa trail is a straight and steep path through the rainforest and in the bamboo forest zone to the lunar beautiful landscape above as you hike to Sasa River Camp 2900 meters for the dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Hike from Sasa camp to Mude Camp – 3500 meters

In the morning after breakfast at Sasa camp, climb through the forest to the summit base camp of Mude Cave Campsite for dinner, and overnight, this Uganda Mount Elgon Climbing Safari day’s hike is 4 to 5 hours walk.

Day 3: Hike from Mude Camp to Wagagai Peak 4321 meters and after return to Mude camp

after morning breakfast you hike through the moorland zone all way to the main peak of Wagagai, in the afternoon return to the Mude campsite for dinner and overnight. Today’s total hike is about 8 to 9 hours walk.

Day 4: Hike from Mude Camp back to Budadiri tourism center

After morning breakfast walks back to Budadiri, and after transfer to Mbale town.

Day 5 – Mbale to Entebbe/Kampala via Jinja

After Uganda Mount Elgon Climbing Safari breakfast, drive off to Jinja where you will go for a boat cruise to explore the source of the River Nile and see where the White Nile comes from in Lake Victoria, after going for lunch at the Sunset Hotel overlooking the River Nile,
In the afternoon drive back to Entebbe/Kampala.

We use both standard 4×4 customized safari vans and 4×4 luxury customized safari Land cruisers as our road mode of transport for game viewing, taking photos wildlife filming and photography, all our safari vehicles has pop up roofs for proper game viewing and easy for to take as much photos as you can, with also charging system for your cameras, phones and also every client is guaranteed of a window seat for easy view.
